
The player has very little decision making to do in this game. Just minor interventions like reallocating seriously wounded and dead crew members and conserving ammunition. The Germans throw everything at you. Even God tries to ruin your day with lousy weather! Basically you are a sitting duck in the game. Your bomber and crew are totally in the hands of fate....and you can't do anything about it! You just chuck loads of dice and hope you get back to England in one piece. Having said that, above is exactly how it was in real life! so the game is a good historical simulation of the bombing raids of the time.
The game has many steps but I found an excellent sequence of play at Boardgamegeek called Gameplay Aid by Al Wilson, March 2015. This chart is visible on the left in the image below. Very clear and concise!
The original crew counters leave something to be desired! I found some colourful replacement counters at Boardgamegeek called New Counters in English by Felipe, December 2012. These counters can be seen in the image below, much better!
I trimmed off the white border on the fighter cards. Again I think a big improvement on the original cards. These cards can be seen in the image below. Rounded corners too!
