On turn 1 I rolled for recruits and scored a '1'. On turn 2 I rolled for recruits and scored a '1' again! That was that, defeat due to Lack of Notoriety. Mosby never became the Southern hero he is in the history books.
![]() I wanted to play an easy solitaire game. It had been 26 years since I last played Mosby's Raiders so I set the game up. I played a basic game to refresh my knowledge of the rules. Then moved on to the game proper with all optional rules apart from the extra event cards. On turn 1 I rolled for recruits and scored a '1'. On turn 2 I rolled for recruits and scored a '1' again! That was that, defeat due to Lack of Notoriety. Mosby never became the Southern hero he is in the history books.

![]() At last I managed to complete a Hornet Leader, Tour of Duty game! The Devastating Interceptors commanded by Black Shadow completed a tour of duty after Libya, Desert Storm and World War III Mediterranean campaigns. The World War III Mediterranean campaign was fascinating! The squadron recorded seven Complete Success missions and six Success missions. The only problem was we got shot up during mission 11 which was a Fighter Sweep and thus recorded our first Complete Failure. So prior to mission 15 we could still possibly fail to complete the tour because of a second complete failure. ![]() Both Ranger! trays are French Indian allies. The warriors on the left are scouting what appears to be a deserted homestead. They are Micmac or Algonquins if a northern campaign and Chippewas or Ottawas if a southern campaign. The warriors on the right are waiting to charge the buildings if necessary. They are Abenaki or Hurons if a northern campaign and Delaware or Shawnee if a southern campaign. A number of Coureurs de Bois officers and privates are attached to each warband. ![]() I played Inside Enemy Lines 2657-2661 with the 89th Company. Result was -4 victory points so a major defeat for the infantry! I had a tough time playing this campaign. I used Space Infantry with the New Worlds Module. The 89th Company do not use heavy weapons and seem to have been designed for fast, stealthy infiltration of a hive. I tried this tactic but it did not work and I was repeatedly caught and then involved in deadly open combat with various nasty aliens. Opposition is lethal in the game and I think it best to stick to the 65th Company because the flamer unit and plasma grenades they are equipped with even the odds up a bit for the infantry...and it's also fun burning aliens! ![]() Ever since Tokyo Express was released in 1988 I've always wanted to play this game. I decided to purchase it and found a copy in good condition, though at a hefty price including shipping of $151.50. I played two games and enjoyed them. As always with Victory Games, no problem with the artificial intelligence whatsoever! |
