Cavalry Troop

Armed with Martini-Henry carbines and sabers. Had a mounted strength of 50 men and 50 horses and a dismounted strength of 50 men.

Field Gun Section

Armed with two 9-pounder rifled muzzle loaders. Had an animal-drawn strength of 25 men and 25 horses and a manhandled strength of 25 men.

Mountain Gun Section

Armed with two 7-pounder rifled muzzle loaders. Had an animal-drawn strength of 25 men and 25 mules and a manhandled strength of 25 men.

Gatling Gun Section

Armed with two gatling guns. Had an animal-drawn strength of 25 men and 25 horses and a manhandled strength of 25 men.

Rocket Section

Armed with three 24-pounder rocket tubes. Had an animal-drawn strength of 25 men and 25 mules and a manhandled strength of 25 men.

Ox Wagon Convoy

An average convoy consisted of 15 tons of supplies carried in 15 ox wagons and pulled by 240 oxen. The convoy would also be accompanied by a water cart, 50 horses and mules, and 25 cattle. The entire train took up half a mile of road.
